Waris PSM Repair

I have a couple HMN9057C Public Safety Mic's and I'd like to replace the cables on them with shorter cables of the newer ("claw" less) connector style. MOL shows a couple of PSM cable replacement kits, such as RKN4100A (24") as being available. Does anybody have any experience replacing the cable ...

Re: XTS3000 Voting Scan Help

I hadn't changed the RSSI settings, it was still set to the default (57). I'll try some new settings, like A9.

Thanks!

Re: XTS3000 Voting Scan Help

Aha, so the trick is that it's working secretly . It seems absurd that Ma M didn't set this up just like the Astro Sabers, where the display would show the voted channel and scan symbol. Weird. Thanks for your help, I thought I was going out of my mind!

[edit]: It looks like this only works with ...

XTS3000 Voting Scan Help

Hello all,
I am having some trouble configuring a voting scan list for my XTS3k. I have created a Scan List and set it to Voting Scan and included the three channels that need to be voted. On the personalities that correspond to those channels I set the scan list selection to the proper voting scan ...

Radius M208 Scan Problem

Hey all,
I have here a Radius M208 mobile which I somewhat successfully modified to become an M216. Using the instructions on editing the MDF file, I was able to enable 16 channels, the ABILITY to program scan lists, and signalling. The problem that I have now run into is that there is no way to ...

Re: XTS2500 Display "Jumps"

bringing this thread back from the dead with an update which has been a long time coming.

I finally got some time this evening to sit down and open up the radio (after I figured out how to use the fancy chassis opener tool). As per the groups instructions I checked the flex on the display and it ...

XTS2500 Dust Cover P/N: A Follow Up

I'm looking for some help identifying a part number for the XTS2500 quick-release type dust cover. This is the "IP67 DUSTCOVER ASSY CONN" that was previously discussed in the threads about the USMC radios.

Re: XTS2500 Display "Jumps"

Thanks for the P/N, I was trying to find it on MOL but kept coming up with the 6685833D01 one, which is for the XTS3k/5k. I'm showing the one you posted as $3.89. It seems kind of silly to order just one tiny little tool, shipping costs more than the part!

Re: XTS2500 Display "Jumps"

Ok, thanks for the info. Is this a major problem that needs to be addressed or can it be treated as a minor quirk? I certanly dont want to cause any prolonged damage to the radio or display. The jumping only appears to affect the clock, smart battery gauge, and direct symbols and it only happens for ...

XTS2500 Display "Jumps"

Hey all,
I just bought a used XTS2500 and noticed that the icons on the display jump around when I release the PTT. This does not occur all the time and appears to be purely random as to when it does occur. I'm wondering if this is indicative of a major problem that needs immediate attention, or if ...

Re: Astro Saber/XTS3000 CPS R05.02.01 released

I don't think R05.02.01 was given a part number since it was only available as a download off MOL (no CD/hard copies were made for distribution). You can order the R05.02.00 (RVN4182V) and then get access to the R05.02.01 from MOL I believe.

Hey folks,
I recieved my replacement RIB and everything is working fine. The cable from MRE works great and I was finally able to program that darn A4 spectra.

I believe that there may have been a short in the wiscomm cable I had tried to use previously which probably burned up my old RIB.

Thanks ...

As a starting point, I'd suggest that you check the wallwart at the RIB end of the power cable under some load. Quite a few of these power adapters fail because the cable takes a beating either on the transformer end or at the connector on the RIB end. Try to verify that you do indeed have 9V ...

AS3 MDC1200 PTT-ID Display

Hello all,
I am having some trouble getting PTT-ID's to display on one of my AS3's personalities. The ID's will flash on the screen for a brief moment when scanning but will not display with scan off.

The system is using MDC1200 for PTT-ID's so I have the personality set for MDC signalling. I also ...

The more I thought of it the more I became afriad of bricking my new AS, so I just decided to buy the new CPS instead. It was expensive, but not quite as expensive as I would imagine repairing a bricked AS would be.

Thanks again to all who were ready to offer their help.

"Codeplug too new for this application"

I have read the section on getting around this roadblock in the batlabs section and was wondering if anyone has had any success with it. Also, is it possible to use a codeplug with a different flashcode to perform this trick without it bricking the target radio?

any help is appreciated.
