We have a 100 watt MTR2000 that has been keyed on at 60 watts for the last 6 years.
It is a taxi data TX. It is still pumping out the 60 watts today (touch wood).

Also a stand alone site only using Intellirepeaters (without a local controller) does not have any unit validation. All units are valid on the system. In a SmartZone system the unit validation process is done by at the master site. If the site link is lost and the site goes to site trunking, all ID'...

Look at the temperature spec on the repeater. There will be no issue at all with it operation down to 0. The unit will be frequency stable well below that. The main reason for the heater is to drive out moisture for long term reliability, not for short term operation. Look at the picture in this lin...

Unless you have a few weeks of back up battery power, I would skip the 12 volt heater. It will just reduce your battery run time. I have bought small 110 volt heaters from the electical supply house. It looked like a large heatsink. I think they were available in 100 or 200 watt models. I can dig up...

Yes. We have about 1500 in service in mixed police/fire/ambulance. They have reduced our battery related issues to near zero. When the battery falls below theshold the user is aware of it. In volunteer fire service it has double the service life of the batteries due to the long time the batteries si...

Look at the Zetron 1512 Sentridial or 1514 DevicePage
Both will dial a number, or connect to a spare DID trunk. They have 8 inputs (the 1512 also has 4 analoge inputs). You can page a dispalay pager with both. You can do voice messages with the 1512,

Bravo Alpha program software question
I am aware of the RSS policy on the board and do not want in any way to violate that policy, but, I am looking for a replacement copy of the Bravo Alpha software. Valmont 25V tower. Any experience?
Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but it is for a new Motorola installation. I have used the Rohn 25G towers before. Now that Rohn has gone belly up, I see that Valmont, Radian and Trylon all make equivelent type towers. I am interested in the Valmont as I can order from Motorola (makes shipping eas...

Known issue. Motorola has a fix for it. It involes adjusting a window time (special software).
Call Motorola. Don't let them tell you that no one else is complaining.

Dual head CDM retrofit kit from Motorola
Has anyone installed the RLN5899 CDM1550 dual head kit? It comes with everything to convert a CDM1550 to dual head operation. I have one on order, but havn't seen it yet. I know that Quick Mount made one, but also heard about all sorts of issues with it. I wonder if the Motorola is a relabeled Quick...

Recommendations for an e-mail gateway (to Glenayre terminal)
I am looking at installing an e-mail gateway to allow our paging subs to send e-mail to their pagers. We run a GL3000 Glenayre terminal. I expect that the device will be an e-mail server with a TNPP link to our terminal. I think that there are several out there (Hark etc), but I am starting from scr...

A standard siren speaker is 11 ohms. For a siren rated at 200 watts it uses 2 speakers in parrallel (5.5 ohms). We use 2 x 10 ohm resistors with a switch to turn off 1 resistor (100 watt or 200 watt mode). We have a small speaker in the test box with a volume control and a seriers resistor to knock ...
