if its any help.. I just bought 2 new NiMh batteries.. found the same issue.. I pulled one off after it said complete... only lasted about 4 hrs... put it back on & left it sit overnight - next day - lasted around 12 hrs. no problems otherwise though...

I have a VHF MTS2000, Model - H01KDH9PW1Bn Flash Code 230008-106000-0 Firmware 06.27... I have my QCII tones set up for decode, but I'm guessing I'm overlooking something simple.. I can't find where in the CPS (1.10) to set up a channel for QCII decode... any help?

Ok.. and I'm sure I'm just overlooking something here.. my radio stops on my priority channel when ANY traffic is on the channel.. however.. the radio does not unmute unless it has the correct PL.... so my issue is that it's annoying for it to stop scanning on something else on the channel... what ...

I have a vhf hi Maratrac that tries to eliminate the mdc data on transmissions... which ordindarily is good, however, I also notice that it does the same thing for FD QCII tones for certain depts... I'll get the A tone, but the B tone is muted. Gets kind of annoying after a while.. .Is there any way ...

While it's stopped on that channel, hold in the 'sel' button until it beeps... it's nuisance channel delete... but if you change the scan mode(on /off) or turn the radio on/off, you'll have to do it each time.... or - if it's constant interference, you may want to take it out of your scan list until ...

Ok.. that's where I'm getting confused... in the rss, there's an option for 'hang-up box' behavior.. either csq scan, or scan stop. right now, it's set to scan stop, however, with the mic off hook , it doesn't stop scanning...

Well - problem was solved- I had converted the radio from 8 - 16 channels, but when I programmed it for 16, I had changed the bandsplit from 146-174 to 146-160 - oops... I changed the bandsplit back to 146-174- no more problems - all works fine...

Sometimes it's the smallest details.... :oops:

Interesting MT1000 dilemma

Ok..I've got a 16ch MT1000 VHF, that for some reason, when you key up on channel 1, the radio resets... It receives ok on 1, and transmits & receives fine on all other channels... but it doesn't seem to like channel 1 transmit.... Any ideas?

I just had the exact same problem with mine.. It turned out it was the cheap paperwrapped ribbon cable which connects the internal mic & speaker to the radio. Some of the RACES members in our area have radios that do not have channel specific MDC... If they have it on one, they have it on all... My EMA director has a Vertex that's set up that way... He can't turn it off on the channels he doesn't need it on..

When you go into the signalling options (f4 f4 f3), you should be able to change the signalling type with the arrow keys... It will scroll through the signalling types until you get to MDC1200...

You can also try to create a new codeplug with that signalling type, rather than using the one you read ...

How old is your battery?.... I had the same problem with mine... except it would beep right out of the charger, but after say 10 mins, if you turned it off & back on, no tone... mt1000 & qcII

I would like to set a channel on my MT1000 to act as a weather alert channel.. How should the QCII setup be? I tried just putting in the 1050 as a b only, but it won't accept just one tone. What am I missing? Should I put the 1050 as both tones?

When trying to program my MT1000, model #H43GCU7100CN - VHF, with an MDC ID, I get the message

'Warning - this front end cover does not support digital messaging'.

Shouldn't most MT1000's support MDC? It programs fine otherwise, it just won't accept MDC signalling...

Ok.. I've looked at the schematic, as well as the 'simple' description.... I have also seen other programming cables.. The 'simple' explanation shows there are 4 pins on the radio connector used - 5,6,7 & 9... all of other cables I've seen, only use 5,6, & 9.. Since there is no test box connected ...

Probably because they don't want to have to go through the hassle of getting a license... It's much easier to go to WalMart and say "look mommy- can we get these to play with?" If you use a ham band or other licensed band (ie public safety bands) without a license you can get in serious trouble ...

When constructing a GP300 programming cable, where would you wire the clip for the 9v battery connection? Do you wire it to the clip end, or the DB25 connector end? Is there anything else special that needs to be done to it?
