I know the aftermarket ribless cables are cheap on fleabay, maybe 15 bucks? Although I can't speak of the quality, never bought one.

Re: Saber III speaker mic where and what to buy
PSm is not recommended for VHF. Aftermarket batteries are available from several vendors including Power products, Cutrate, Honeywell and more. I'd recommend lithiums due to them being lightweight and don't suffer from "memory" problems. But be advised they must be charged in a tri-Chen ch...

I have a known, working ht1250 that I was going to swap-in parts with. Does anyone know where the "memory" is stored? In other words; is the radios "personality" on the main board? Or where the keypad is? Can I swap in a good board and have the radio retain its memory? (I don't h...

Good Day all. A friend from work handed me his Ht1250, it will not power up. (Fresh battery) I have not yet opened it to check for properly seated cables. RadioSouth, these aren't OEM. They have a plug-in charger and aren't made for the drop-in charger, but they are nice and thin with MUCH better specs than the OEM slims. Look great for the price. I'm ordering one. We'll see how it goes. Yep, Visar with the OEM Hi-cap battery is ridiculous, a potato i...

Haha I see I'm not the only one that still has one. I know you said its not a battery issue, but its possible that the radios contacts need a good cleaning with a pencil eraser. I would try cleaning both the radio and battery contacts with this method first before ruling out something uglier. It can...

That's what I thought, I'll see if I can get a firmware refresh (any idea on cost?) and get her benched if that doesn't work. I knew something was wrong- these are fresh batteries and the radio is parked on quick-call, doesn't last 12 hours. Not good.

XTS25K antenna tightness and carry case questions
Hi all, Just my XTS2500i and have a couple questions. I replaced the wide band antenna it came with a more reasonably sized vhf one. I noticed it takes quite a bit of "force" to snug the "boot" of the antenna against the SMA connector on the radio. I don't want to overtighten it,...

Sorry, still figuring out digital. Question: what is Q806 vs. Q811 option? I know Q806 is Astro digital, and Q811 is P25 (I think?) but are they compatible? Can two radios with these seperate options talk to each other? (is this a Backward/forward compatibility issue?) Sorry all, just still confused...
