Thanks guys for the replies. I found after discussing it with the tech dept. at Polaris that my problem was. I was using an Athlon 1.2ghz computer to try to communicate with the radio (it's too fast for the radio, go figure) I hooked everything up on my old 486 laptop and it worked.

What you need to do is determine how many amps this radio needs when you transmit and then purchase a 12vdc power supply that is rated for a little over that amperage. Hook the same two wires that would provide power in a patrol car to the radio to the connections on the power supply.

I manage the radio equipment for a stock car team and we have had no problems with the 1225s in the car we have two in the car with a switch to change radios with out changing the harnes. our two radios are in seperate compartments in a radio box mounted to the roll bar near the driver. each ...

I have looked at the Polaris/Motorola RIB pin out guide and the cable diagram for a gp300. My question is the cable diagram shows pins 4 and 11 connected, on the Polaris unit pin 11 is 15, but 4 is not listed on the pin conversion, is 4 the same on both the Polaris and Motorola RIBs?
