Program ignition sense and you should be good! If you can get the brick side remote head adaptor you can program through that instead of having to screw with the rear accessory cable.

I suspect so, I have gone the other way and used an sb9600 board from an xtl with an astro Spectra. My only issue was I could not line up button commands with the Spectra, channel up and down worked though.

5 positions with 2 in dispatch and 3 in Eoc. I would say skip the MIP, I am pretty sure there are no granular options for cross muting its either on or off. So if you have the eoc activated they dont know what the dispatch center is saying and vice versa and will lead to lots of confusion.

ADP Hardware vs software encryption

Does anybody have any problems running a mix of equipment with ADP encryption? It should not matter that some radios have software and some hardware ADP as long as all the keys match right?

I believe you can go backwards with the CSDM program, but not forward, best to keep the 2 on the same software rev. Latest is 2.06 I think.

The USB connection with the APX in Win 7 sets up a kind of network, look into the network settings and make sure its labeled home and not public or work.

Yea ok, so OP you want astro saber win software on there, whats the low end of the spectrum your trying to maintain the ability to program? Stuff that won't work with a 486 or better?

Create a bootable usb stick with dos 6.22, problem solved you can use almost any computer with a serial port, works from an old win2000 laptop p3 to my win 7 dell (with serial port).

You wont be able to alias the consolettes through the ADM or MCC, you have to create the alias list in the radio itself. Ill take a look at my MCC at work and see how I have the paging set up. With the strap tho your compromising the positioning, the signal is more susceptible to to absorbed by the body and your also covering the antenna with a metalized fabric. Not saying it doesnt solve the heat issue and not trying to bash (I sometimes use a strap), I just think theres gotta be a solut...

Quantar is being canceled the end of this year, so in typical moto fashion gtr will most likely gain analog and mixed mode support sometime after that. It should work with astrotac's and diu's as long as ur using 4 wire or v.24. Astro modems are not supported.

Load it into the XTL not the mip, the mip will not alias the sb9600 id's. Characters are limited to however many spaces the w9 display is.

Correction w9 head!Just double checked, yes I can get into call list, so far I think the only thing sb9600 screws you out of is scan list program on the xtl5k, no way to long press scan button.

So far I have found all ID display issues fixed in 3.0, so yes if the w7 head is capable of displaying it then yes it should report it to the console. Not an issue at all, since your using 32 bit machines its easy, just use xp mode for any software that gives you issues, but dont just run it in compatibility mode, make sure you install it using that also. I have been very successful using a dell d630. You will be amazed how fast the USB moto drive...

Is it the usb "Buddy Mic" with the chicklet sized PTT or the MCC style with the enhanced usb jackbox?

The buddy mics were a huge issue with mips, there might be a fsb on them, not sure its been a while.

Go into CPS and make sure u have man down enabled and set all timing to 0 or 1 (the lowest you can set). For some reason the new RSM's use the man down function for emergency.

I think my stick is 64mb or 128, it even says motorola on it lol.
