OK, my $0.02. Try using 2 Pyramid repeaters, on different freq's. figure out the separation in distance or freq to allow both to work low power.... then have your portable set up scan the 2nd channel, without allowing it to talk back to the repeater. so it monitors ch 1, and scans ch 2.... but talk ...

Yes.. they did... I used one as an MP in germany in the mid-Late 80's, most of our stuff was HT500 low band, but the Airforce SP's had MX-300's in the mid vhf split we used for interop at times...

back before gov liquidation... you could get some listed in the DRMO catalogs.

LOL...look very close... It's been messed with MS Paint..... Look at terh edges of the case real close. you can see the lines where the painted using a paint program of some sort.

He said it happens one time a day.. that could be.. If it's a large angency.. the Emergency when a pursuit starts could be... even if somone is using it to break in to radio traffic on a busy day.... yeah........some places do that.... I would check for who uses your freq and do a search for others....

OK.. I had a conversation with the "Tech" from the local Moto shop today......... I asked about the priority scan on our system.... he says in our system.. ( a Smartnet 2 system) has too long a lag time while scanning that we won't hear anything....... I asked aobut the other larger system...

im trying to clarify what can be done and not done.. without going to our local shop... we have a habit of getting a "It can't be done" answer.... we are as we speek, getting new radios.... trading in out mtx8000 b5"s for XST1500's ( with display) they have it set to turn on the scann...

As I stated in the prior post. There is NO money to pay for it. I am trying to figure out "Some Chance"... which is better than "NO" chance. Maxtracs are $100.00, Spectra's are $200.00, a VRS is $1500.00 or better... I , meaning personally my own pocket can't afford to pay that.....

carrying a second portable is not an option. Im not going to have officers carrying two radios. the problem is only in one area.. but they are there often enough that I need to solve the problem. I have asked for funds to go the VRS route.. but the authority to approve purchases and the common sence...
