Re: Micor Power Supply Issue
Just to be clear, not trying to get the micor back on line, threw it in the trash this afternoon, just looking to re-purpose the power supply if possible. Still have the PA as well although we don't really have much use for it.

Micor Power Supply Issue
We have a 1110B power supply that was installed on a Micor repeater that has been non-working for several years. Anyway, replaced a 10 AMP fuse, plugged it in and it started right up. Issue is, it's making 15.6 volts where the Micor PA would connect, and 13.4 to the little plug that plugged into the...

But yes, even at a couple bucks a foot, plus labor, another antenna may be a cheaper option after all.

GPS RTK on Existing Tower
I have a question for you infrasture type folks. We currently have a 100 watt uhf repeater connected to a dipole antenna via 7/8" heliax rigid line. The repeater is an old micor with a recently updated telewave duplexer. The repeater will be replaced in the next twelve months due to narrowband ...

Re: CDM750 Power Question
No, what I meant was that if the speaker is plugged into the radio on, key turned to on = radio turns on. Key turned to off = radio turns off. When you unplug the speaker ( only 2 wires 1 on 16 the other on 1) the radio will come on by a push of the power button only. Your post has gotten me wonderi...

CDM750 Power Question
We have a UHF CDM750 that will turn on and off with the ignition (it is wired to a switched source) when the external speaker is hooked up, but it won't turn on when the speaker isn't hooked up. Just a normal speaker on pins 1 and 16 I think, nothing hooked to the ignition sense pin (10?). Whats wei...

Re: John Deere Combine Antenna Selection
Well this is way late but some after pictures of the quarted wave I wound up going with. We were really satisfied, it spent the whole harvest under a pile of corn/soybeans that is always spilling from the grain tank and transmitted/recieved crystal clear everytime. The new cabs are so quiet the exte...

Re: John Deere Combine Antenna Selection
The concrete at the base of the tower has 1982 scrawled in it, so we are getting close to 30 years old. A tornado wiped out the tower about fifteen years ago, a new tower was put up, but I'm pretty sure the feedline and antenna were resused. Within the last five years high winds bent the antenna abo...

Re: John Deere Combine Antenna Selection
$2,500 for a new duplexor, wow, i was thinking it might be 750-1000 bucks when ours gave out, but sheesh, thats a ton of money. Ours is the only transmitter on the tower, until we put the RTK transmitter on it. I appreciate the comments, and I think I'll go with the quarter wave.

Re: John Deere Combine Antenna Selection
My brother in law pulled one of the NMOs through the roof of one of the tractors so I had to take out one of the lights and fix it, they have the braiding on the antenna grounded to a large piece of sheet metal that sits under the antenna under the plastic roof top, I assumed this was their form of ...

Will UHF Mobile Interfere With RTK Receiver?
Getting our ducks in a row and looking into the possibilty of going to a RTK setup for planting/spraying/tillage for farming. Basiclly you have a base station that knows where it is (stays on a fixed point, our repeater tower ) and it sends error correction signals to the field units. The tractors h...

John Deere Combine Antenna Selection
I'm trying to decide whether to put a gain antenna or a quarter wave on the combine. I have recently been putting quarter waves on the tractors because they seem to survive the trees that we run into at the field edges. I wish I would have taken a picture, but to describe the set up, John Deere sets...

I don't think they will dump analog. They make a lot of money off of commercial accounts every year. They aren't just going to give that money to kenwood or others. If we had to buy a digital setup or kenwoods to use with our exisisting repeater we would buy kenwoods. Public safety and commercial ac...

Need Part Number and Price For Motorola PA Speaker
I need the part number and price for the big speaker you would mount on the bed of a mechanics truck that would work with a Maxtrac, the radios aren't the 16 pin models. Does the speaker in the front of the radio still work while the big one mounted on the back of the truck is hooked up? Also does a...

I just got the ht1250 and it came with that damn stubby antenna.
Also what is the going rate for a NiMH battery for the 1250, Motorola not aftermarket. It came with an aftermarket battery and it doesn't fit right.
