See if it was modified for Fasinator encryption. Look for added wiring on the back of the main board.

Re: Why Motorola still makes the best radio.
My opinion? Glad you asked. I dont think Tyco/MaCom would have spent the money if they didn't see a jewel in the rough. I hope they can get in gear and get heavy on the P25 trunking bandwagon. Lots more money to be made there than in propritary systems now days, interoperability is the new buzzword....

Bad PA. The only way to know for sure is with an RF probe.
Do you pick anything up on a nearby scanner set to the TX freq? This will tell you if your VCO is working.

On a notch duplexer 200khz will not present any change in passband loss but the rejection will change a little. Should not be a problem with most repeaters.

You need EDACS3 software or "Programmer" software, cable, and TQ3370 box. Here is a link to the TQ3370 manual http://www.hallelectronics.com/lbi/38858c.pdf Cable is http://www.hallelectronics.com/getech/tq-lpe.gif Same as the LPE200 cable. Hall Electronics is your GE radio info source. Chris

We had 600 MTX9000's on lease, when it was time to turn them in 587 of them had bad displays. About 100 or so had been replaced at least once. The new ones may be better, who knows? Get used to changing them.

Yes, as far as I can see they dont have any S records on file.
I am sure there are still some Motorola hackers left on the board that can help. I dont think they all left when we were overrun.
