Re: Spectra service menue

I finally figured it out. Just on a fluke I changed the 2 "time bomb" capacitors on the head and Bingo! It goes into the service mode every time even on the remote cable. I am not sure why, but I will take it! I had no other symptoms, and the VFD was bright and clear so I just assumed they...

900 Mhz Nucleus power supply info

I have a 900 Mhz 300 watt Nucleus paging transmitter that I would like to use on 927 Mhz repeater service. Do any of you have the pin out information for the power supplies? They were missing from the transmitter when I got it and I need to supply them from another source. I believe it needs +24, +1...

Re: Spectra service menu

Just out of curiosity, you might check the front panel settings in the RSS. From the MAIN MENU > F2 SERVICE > F8 SERVICE AIDS > FRONT PANEL AUTHORIZATION I checked that, the home button is not programmable. Only the top row and the keypad can be assigned. The home button beeps normally when pressed...

Spectra service menue

I have a 900 Mhz Spectra in my truck but I can not get the service menue to display. I hit the home button 5 timed during the SELF CHK display and it will not go into the SERVICE menue? R-2001C HV power supply schematic

Do any of you have a copy of the schematic for the CRT high voltage power supply in a R-2001C Motorola service monitor? Mine has died and it needs some attention but I don't have a service manual for it.

Thanks,
Jack

Re: PURC 5000 Help

Jack, The PURC5000, 300 watt manual consists of the regular PURC5000, 1 to 150 watt manual, 68P81064E05, and the 300 watt supplement, 68P06907W44. The supplement covers the Q2934A simulcast models and the Q2935A non-simulcast models as well as a couple other, more obscure versions. The basic manual...

PURC 5000 Help

I have a 300 watt 900 MHz PURC transmitter that has a problem. When I key it up it only puts out 90 watts and the full PA light briefly lights and then goes out. The drive seems normal so I assume there is something in the PA that is toast. It is a Model Q2934A and of course the service manual from ...

Re: Maxtrac Help

It turned out to be a Maxtrac 800 MHz LTR radio. I ended up blanking the board and installing conventional firmware and have converted it to a 902 MHz receiver. I was not sure about talkaround but it works fine and it has excellent sensitivity, I used up the last pair of 900 MHz filters I had and ap...

Maxtrac Help

I have a 900 MHz Maxtrac that I can not read with any software I have including the Maxtrac Lab. It is a model M07UGQ6FU1AN with firmware version HLN9643D and a 16 pin accessory plug. Do any of you know what version of RSS will read and program this radio?

Thanks,
Jack

Metering panel part number question

I have a PURC 5000 with the TLN2419A super gee whiz metering panel but a couple of the switches are bad and I don't have a manual to look up the part numbers. The bad switches are labled D1 and D2 on the lower right front panel. They are made by C&K and have the number 7101 stamped on them. I we...

PURC5000 TX PL?

I picked up a PURC5000 to use on a 900 MHz repeater and I have a programming question. The model number is C85JLB-1106A and my question is, can it be programmed to transmit PL? I need to find someone with a suitcase programmer to help me out, but I have no idea about the TX PL.

Thanks,
Jack

Re: Help with R2001A repairs

I just checked it and it is not linear, using various hand held radios here are some of the results: If I transmit on 927.2 MHz the Spectrum analyzer says it is on 925.3 MHz a -1.9 MHz error. If I transmit on 445.0 Mhz the analyzer shows 448.2 MHz or a -3.2 MHz error. When I input 145.0 MHz the anal...

Help with R2001A repairs

I have a Motorola R2001A service monitor that is having a synthesizer problem. It generates a signal and the spectrum analyzer works but everything is on the wrong frequency. It seems to move in even numbered increments bit not is odd numbers? I have a schematic of the RF systhesizer but have no ide...
