You want dual band, order an 8000 with only what you want turned on. Remember, the 8000 is not multiband by default. Hardware wise, yes. Software wise, no. It's actually the other way around. The backplane ID is available in the CPS under the status panel screen as I recall, and that transistor looking thing is likely it. Look in the "Service" screens, you'll see it.

Any time an upgrade for a Quantar needed to be ordered, the BPID had to be provided to Motorola.

Is the polarity set properly in the Infinimux? Seems to me if you plug it in and it keys up immediately, that is your problem. That, or the cable is miswired.

Sounds like the polarity of the carrier detect signal isn't set correctly, or perhaps the radio isn't configured properly? I seem to recall there is a "car stereo mute" feature on the MCS 2000 that is used for the carrier detect signal?

Whatever you do, IMHO, stay away from RAD products. Terrible customer service, questionable firmware, and just plain difficult and terrible to work with. In my humble opinion. And I've worked with A LOT of their stuff.

Ended up picking up for $18 a pair of brand new Orion ball bearing 4000RPM fans with the exact same hole pattern. We'll see how they work out.
