So do I even need the Clean Cab CPS?

Do I plug into the DB15 on the back of the actual chassis, or do I need to open it and connect to the radio inside?

And I assume this uses a standard low power Spectra cable, and RIB?

So whats the skinny on programming ASTRO Clean Cab locomotive radios? I have several locomotives on property that are going to need our PBX and admin channels programmed into them. Re: AstroTac Configuration

After doing some research and thought on this, v.24 is required as that is where all the signalling and keying occurs. AFAIK, there are no analog outputs on the comparator to provide keying, etc. The AstroTAC is not feasible for analog only voting. SpectraTAC, DigiTAC, JPS SNV-12, and MLC 8000 are a...

Interesting: I was under the impression from a friend of mine that the comparator did not do any status tone voting. Larry,

The ASTROTAC Comparator uses 1000Hz as a status tone. That is why very rarely you'll hear a blip of 1000Hz over the air seemingly from nowhere.

I have no experience using non-Quantar or non-ASTROTAC receivers with an ASTROTAC comparator, so your mileage may vary.

Any time an upgrade for a Quantar needed to be ordered, the BPID had to be provided to Motorola.
