Re: Quantar Linking 2m/440 & external controller
AS, I'm trying to put P25 on the map here and gain a following by providing solid infrastructure, footprint and reliability. There has never been a P25 repeater here on either band and this will put P25 on the map. Further, the frequency coordinators also expressed concern about allocating a P25 onl...

Quantar Linking 2m/440 & external controller
I have a VHF and UHF Quantar and a single SCom 7330 controller. Due to available space limitations at the sites, they will be deployed in opposing sides of town but will have similar footprints. I will be running them dual mode FM/P25. Internet and POTS are available, but T1 is out of the question. ...

Frankenstein Quantar?
I do not know if this has been already asked, so after perusing through some threads for the last half hour I'll ask.... How difficult... or is it even possible to Frankenstein build a Quantar repeater? If so, has anyone done it? Success or fail? With all of the recent FRUs and surplus units surfaci...

Carl Robbins/Carolina Radio... thats a name I hadn't heard or seen in ages. As previously mentioned in the thread, he was very reliable and innovative with aftermarket cables in the late 90's and early 00's but he appeared to fall off radar and off the face of the earth. Carl also had aftermarket ba...

Been there, done that... On the VHF radio in particular, there is something wrong with the physical control head. I was able to swap heads with another set up that had blank non-assigned buttons, populated the control head and reprogrammed the entire unit and it works flawlessly. The original head w...

Spectra Siren issue
I just reinstalled my vhf high power and uhf mid power A9s in my daily driver. They sat idle in a vehicle I had not used in years. I recently purchased 1 hln1185b and 1 hln1185c siren boxes with brand new spectra to siren cables. After the install, only the airhorn works. The display will show wail,...

My Parents brought a brand new at the time 1981 Mercury full sized station wagon (A Colony something or other) that had a /\/\otorola manufactured 40 ch. CB as one of the purchased factory options. It had a HHCH that was very probably a predecessor to the Spectra/Syntor HHCH. The audio was routed th...

Nextel partners
I dont know much about nextel partners--however I do know that they are the ones who put up 3 sites in my community. They supplied the tower, land and prepped the site. Nextel came in an added the infrastructure. Nextel and the 'partner' share the revenue brought in from these 'shared' sites. I dont...

Minitor II repair
So what's the scoop, Matt? Further to answer your question... paging & wireless service center started out doing good service. I stopped doing business with them when I sent them 6 pagers for repair, yet when they were 'returned as repaired' only 2 were done properly. I had heard that /\/\ was o...

I am not exactly sure what you mean by "Motorola Evacuation tones" However, on Motorola dispatch consoles that I have used, the 3 "alerting tones" on everything that I used were as follows: 1004 hz solid tone for the duration that the button is pressed over the selected channel u...

Minitor IV Firmware
Greetings, My department just took delivery of 20 new Minitor IV pagers with amplified chargers. When programming them, I noticed that within the lot delivered, the pagers had two different firmware versions. One was version 9.53 and the other 9.65... Does anyone have a clue as to what the differenc...
