GM350/GM950 test lead and tuning

Hi all. I'm tested a GM950 2m radio that showed it's about 600Hz off. I would actually like to tune it, but I don't have: - Test cable GTF-376 - RTX4005/GTF180 And the radio is with a HHCH, so rear programming only. I do have the RLN4460 test box, and what goes with it for waris series. As for progr...

Hi, I'm under the impression that the handsets mentiones in the topic are one and same. I'm trying to interface said handsets with a simico srm1000 tetra terminal. However, the srm needs mic and earphone gnd to both be separate from ptt and hook ground. I tried googling for a schematic to no avail. ...

Ooh, I got one more! Check this out, Tuner R02.05.00: VCO Attn. 25kHz 1. Under the Tx Align menu, select VCO Attn. 25kHz. 2. Begin with the lowest frequency. Select the thumb of the slider at the lowest frequency point and then press the PTT Toggle button to key up the radio at the corresponding fre...

Re: Waris, Global tuner help versus Basic service manual

A quick follow-up. The tuner R02.05.00 states the following: 1. Inject a -47dBm RF Signal modulated with 1kHz tone at the 3KHz(for 25kHz channel spacing) or 1.5KHz(for 12.5kHz channel spacing) deviation. 2. Adjust the softpot value by using the slider, keying in the edit box (press ENTER to confirm ...

Waris, Global tuner help versus Basic service manual

Hi All. It has occurred to me, that the Global tuner (R02.18.00) and basic service manual (both for HT750 AND GP300 (emea) -series) differ in terms of target values for tuning. One example of the tuner help file being a bit "off", was in my earlier post about the PA Bias. This made me chec...

CM360 (EMEA) flashgrade went sideways ("T2 fail" solved)

Hello all. I tried to upgrade a CM360 with the same tools (accy connector) as waris mobiles. After the flash-switch was set to on, radio power cycled and flashing started it came with a *beep* "T2 FAIL". I tried google all I could but couldn't find any solutions. The codeplug could not be ...

Professional portable (Waris) VHF tuning; PA BIAS

Hi, I was tuning a few VHF GP330's (EMEA equivalent of HT750, and 5-tone) with the latest Professional series global tuner (R02.18.00 IIRC). The readme (help) states the following of the PA BIAS tuning: 1. Ensure that the radio’s antenna output is terminated in a 50-Ohm load. This is to prevent self...

Re: CM340 minimum audio volume

At least the 5-tone version of CM360 has the option to limit minimum volume. I had one radio where the minimum volume was actually quite high.
You might need to enable expert mode in the CPS to view this option.

These were common in europe, normal GP300:s are rare around here.

Re: MOTO TRBO Vs. Motorola Astro P25 For Public Safety

I tweaked around with the TRBO radio disable feature, and this might be a sport where P25 gear should be a tad better. I'm not familiar with P25 gear, but I've understood that a P25 radio can be stun or inhibited remotely, and has to receive treatment from whoever stunned/inhibited it. Thus renderin...

Re: Use of speaker mics and portable radios in the fire serv

Very interesting in deed! We use our GP330's on a regular basis, no matter what the incident. These are used for our own communication, and comms to dispatch are over a tetra-based system. The common method of wearing the radio is a) the jacket radio pouch or b) trouser radio pouch under the jacket....

Re: HACK O'DA MONTH-ADD DISPLAY TO YOUR SINGLE IMPRES CHARGE

A quick follow-up of what I've discovered. As some of you might already know, the battery contains two 1-wire chips. An EEPROM and a battery management circuit to store all data. This was readable with the charger off using a simple DS9490 1-wire USB-adapter. Applying power to the charger didn't wor...

Spare parts alternatives (GP320 to GP360 upgrade)

Due to previous events, I have access to a few waris (not lazarus) GP320 VHF:s. Also, I have access to a few GP340:s. And due to a more recent event, I have a GP360 with a busted rf board - but a decent case and a need for a radio with display. The busted GP360 has the 8486062B16 PCB, which accordin...

Re: Motorola GP360 drains battery

I shall continue my monologue. The radio draws 60mA while powered, so there is for sure something that bothers it. I also fiddled around with the thought of converting the spare GP340 into a GP360 on a software level, and just slap it into the GP360 casing. However, these is a small hitch with the c...

Thank you Tom for your input.
Although the current is 20mA and not 120mA, I shall look further.
The GP firmware version is R03.14.00.
Could someone fill me in with what the latest is for the waris EU-series?
The GP340 I have for spares is R03.04.00.

I understand that waris<->trbo won't work, but according to this review it would be possible to use the WPLN4114 base with the inserts from NNTN7392A to charge both waris and TRBO batteries. All in all, the WPLN4114 (Or WPLN4111AR) does retail for $130 (might be found on the bay cheaper), and when a...

I stumbled upon a few local (European) Visars a few years back that wouldn't program with the Visar rss. I had to use HT1000 or JT1000 rss if...

There are still "hardware" serial cards that can be purchased. These are available with PCI, PCIe, PC-card, expresscard and pcmcia-interfaces.

Re: GP300 battery schematic

Would this help?
http://www.batlabs.com/images/gp300bat.gif

There is a diode, so the best option is to find a old radio body as I did.
I connected this to a Robitronic Overloader 2 -charger from the R/C world just to find out we have a few duff packs that need to be renewed.

Hope this helps, Martin
