Is it heating up? Possibly not after 5 minutes, but you never know. If the machine is full of dust or anything else that makes for a nice cozy blanket for the proc and other components to get nice and hot and shut down from the thermal overload.

My work laptop is a CF-19 and it works great as an all around machine. I needed the serial port for radios, network equipment and such. The only thing that gets annoying is when I have to remote to something over the VPN.. the small screen gets annoying at that point.

Did you try looking at what the routing table in the PC itself has. Maybe there is an errant static route in there pointing to the WWAN interface that is forcing your Internet connection to go that way.

Motorla Mobility made thw cable boxes? That i didnt know. But, i guess the same with the cell biz i do know tjat the cable modems and oxes were not a big piece of the pie because Scientific Atlantic is a pretty large market shareholder in that industry.

Why not use the 16 pin connector that is right up near the programming connector inside the maratrac. IIRC the pins are set up the same as the default Maxtrac/Radius configuration.

You would need to get the flv file off the website and then run it through a convertor to turn into something that you can burn to DVD. There are a ton of convertors out there to choose from... Just need to scap off the flv file.

The majority of the time yes. A few times I have see that it is the hard drive controller that is bad and it isn't seeing the drive let alone what is on the drive. If it is a socketed chip then yes you can probably upgrade within the series a level or 2, depending on where in the pecking order the processor is. If it's soldered on, you left your paddle on shore for your trip up the creek.

I checked my windows 7 laptop on my VPN and I have LM and NTLMv2 enabled. And I think the network DNS servers on your local machine may need to be changed for the VPN, but I don't remember off hand where to do that.

Ah ok. At work for the ambulances we have Junxion Boxes in all of the ambulances. They take a PCMCIA WWAN card and use that for an internet connection to share over a low power WLAN. All just as configurable as a regular at home router.

If you run some cabling from your main router to another area or two other areas and put accesspoints there you could roam between them if they all have the same SSID. I do this with my setup at home, and although a little more advanced, I have it that way at my job as well.

Don't they use daughter cards like most other laptops? If so it is a matter of adding the daughter card, and then putting the antenna in it. The antennas are usually the hardest part of installing something like that.

That may not work...
The CMOS may not "reset" with the battery pulled... and you may need some sort of CMOS reset tool like KILLCMOS. A laptop ('specially a toughbook) is not like a desktop that would have the jumpers to reset the CMOS/BIOS to a default state.
