In either case, it's still in a distant future considering the size if the system and subscriber base. MARCS-IP is being used for day-to-day operations in many counties even though the system has not been built statewide. They are not planning an all-at-once migration. http://www.radioreference.com...

FPP is kind of a pain to set up, and requires some things to be just right. First, if you look at your first zone (the FPP zone), you'll notice that there are exactly 16 channels and that each personality is assigned to exactly one channel. The personalities are also assigned in order (channel 1 = p...

My understanding is that the "T" radios will work in analog mode, but probably won't work in digital mode. I can't say this 100% for sure, but my friend purchased a couple of "T" XPR4550 mobiles, and while they worked fine in analog mode, they would not speak TRBO in the ham band.

I don't know the protocol details, but I do know that the timeslot selection is irrelevant for simplex/talkaround. If I have radio A parked on timeslot 1, and radio B on timeslot 2, they both talk to each other in simplex mode as long as color code and talkgroup are correct.

I have never tried taking a 403-470 HT1000 out of band, but I have used 450-512 ones down to at least 442, so if this holds for the 403-470 radios you should be able to take one down to at least 395. This is speculation, of course, but if you have HT1000s already it might be worth a try.
