MCC7500 & VOIP audio arbitration
We are getting ready to migrate part of the non-emergency comms in our center from our 911 ANI/ALI phone system onto our Shoretel VOIP system that our admin lines are on. We've got our local MSS and Shoretel scratching their heads with regards to arbitrating audio between our MCC7500 and the Shorete...

Re: MCS2000 odd power button behavior
I think I figured out what happened. Apparently the RIB died while the radio was being programmed creating a semi-corrupt codeplug. Kicked a 01/82 error, but the radio accepted the codeplug after another read. Sounds like I need a clean SREC. Anyone have an SREC for a Model 1 VHF 25W MCS2000? Model ...

MCS2000 odd power button behavior
Just picked up an MCS2000 M1 VHF. I think I'm having trouble with the ignition sense, but I'm not 100% sure. Firmware is 5.58. Radio has the accessory plug with pins 1&2 and 4&9 jumped. I added a pin to 15 per the diagrams I found for ignition sense. No matter the state of the ignition sourc...

Re: Jedi Missing Pixels FSB *extended*
I actually repaired one of these using a regular Iron for clothing. I set it on low for delicate cloth and pressed one of the edges of the iron on the cable. I put firm pressure on the cable with the circuit board laying on a semi hard absorbing surface like a stack of paper (I used a manual for so...

Figured it out. Butter knife to separate the bottom chassis tabs and a little careful prying.

CP200 housing change
Can anyone provide a quick and dirty how to for doing a housing change on a CP200? Have the service manual, but its mostly circuitry, not a single diagram that I can find for doing a housing change. 4 channel UHF if it matters.
Thanks!
Thanks!

XTS5k rebanded system programming
Is there some subtle difference in programming an analog rebanded system that I'm missing in CPS? A small local city recently rebanded. All I did was update the control ch freq to its new rebanded freq, all the other info remained the same. The radio will not receive, but will transmit. I can pick t...

Re: GP380 (recased 339) resets on TX
So it gets more interesting...I am shipping the radio back to get it replaced, however, my curious nature has me tinkering with the radio until I do ship it out. It would seem that the issue is related to PL tones. Transmit on any channel with CSQ only, no problems. Transmit on a repeater split or s...

Re: GP380 (recased 339) resets on TX
Ok, so got both "GP380s" aligned. They were only slightly out of acceptable norms, but they're well within now. The UHF unit performs flawlessly. Upon closer inspection, the batteries are deff not really motorola. They have authentic looking tags / barcodes, but the pegs on the bottom are ...

Re: GP380 (recased 339) resets on TX
The best I can tell, they're genuine M boards (took one apart), recased in what is probably an aftermarket housing. The boards appear to be in good shape. The serial shows that it's a GP339, but the codeplug shows a GP380 (same serial as on the stickers). Honestly not quite sure how they put them to...

Re: GP380 (recased 339) resets on TX
I mean it turns itself off then immediately back on. How would I go about locating the newest firmware? I doubt motHerola is going to sell it to me since I'm in the US and this is an import radio. 03.10 is the newest F/W I could locate...can't locate a newer F/W...the UHF model I have has 03.08. I w...

GP380 (recased 339) resets on TX
I am now the proud owner of one UHF and one VHF "GP380" (really a recased GP339) from Hong Kong. Both radios are in great cosmetic shape, and the UHF has performed flawlessly. Having a little issue with it's VHF brother, however. It seems every time I transmit on a channel with repeater sp...

Re: Iden r750 Questions
Yes, any "plus" series phone can crossfleet with no problems. If you have issues with the morons in 'regular' support activating an IMEI based device, call 800-927-2199, that's iDen premiere care. They'll help any customer that calls, premiere or not, and they're awesome.

Re: Iden r750 Questions
The r750 is an iDen only unit, they lack the ability to do any kind of simplex. They program with the iden version of RSS, tho it's windows, not DOS based. There are 5 levels of RSS for iden units, Agent, Super Agent, Carrier, Depot and L@b. To my knowledge, all r750's are r750 plus units. Plus simp...

XTS3k Flash options
Reaching out for some way above my head help here. I've got a 3k, 800 mhz, very basic flash as it stands, 100004-000000-4, basically just a Smartnet radio. Sadly, 3 of the 4 currently smartnet systems that my service currently works with are either actively swapping talkgroups onto their new shiny 9...

Re: SMA port cover, JEDI and XTS
Yeah, thats the new model, we still have a few of those unlost LOL. The older ones werent so fancy. They were just plastic caps that kinda snapped onto the SMA port. I can't remember the last round of PSMs i got having any in them, but then again it's been quite a while since I ordered any.

Re: SMA port cover, JEDI and XTS
Unfortunately, thats the P/N for the accessory port cover / seal, not the antenna port cover, there have been a few threads in the past discussing it. None produced an answer with the correct part number tho :( i.e.: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29751&start=0&hilit=320...

Re: SMA port cover, JEDI and XTS
Grrr, from what I found on MOL, that P/N is for the accessory cover, I'm looking for the cap that covers the antenna port when the antenna isn't present...I may not have been 100% clear in my requesnt, my apologies.

SMA port cover, JEDI and XTS
I've searched and banged my head on my desk (multiple times mind you). I'm looking for a part number for the little oft-lost plastic cover doohickey for the MTS2000 and XTS5000 SMA antenna port when its left open when using a public safety mic. Our PSMs for the XTS5000's came with one, and how peopl...

Advanced System Key newbie questions
I recently upgraded from my old MTS2000 M3 to a mint XTS5000 bought from a guy that works @ our radio vendor. I have CPS 12 and was provided the appropriate system key for the analog system that my service is currently on. I read the radio with CPS no problem, but apparently in his infinite wisdom, ...
