well, your mcmicro is a trunking radio. it is normal for it to act so. if you are not registered on a trunking system your radio will never transmit and as far as I know the trunking mcmicro can not be programmed for conventional operation. there are ways to replace the controller and make the radio...

yes, we are sure it's the PA. tha max vol setting is OK.

I have heard the PA die as it got 13V from the flash cable on the speaker lead. it made the "squeeeeeechhh". and that was it.

and now audio is distorted and low....

normally that shouldn't be a problem... in a gp300 I have I programmed 3 scan channels with just as many lists. in my rss scanlists are created automatically when i set the mode as scan instead of conventional which is default. if it doesn't behave like that.... don't really know!

the third pin is used in intrinsically safe radios to supply a separate current limited voltage to the rx only part of the radio. maybe they thought it would be cheaper simply not to put the pin in the radios that don't use it.
