Your sure that you have the fleetsync activated on the channel? I know on our 3180's at work I had to turn it on for each channel kind of like how an mdc system has to be chosen for each personality in motorola's cps.

Are we talking about the 2100’s with the LED X modules? Most of the agencies around here have gone to the 2100’s with the Optix modules and they are pretty visible. The lack of sync is a draw back but they are bright.

Most of the MDC installs in this area have external antennas, I believe most have an in line bi directional amplifier. I am not sure of the brand.

I don’t think post will work for what he wants, if I am reading it right what he is trying to do is create an audible beep on the radio to force the user to wait for a key up lag on the repeater. Andrew111 can you confirm that this is what you are trying to do?

Well there is not really anything specifically for that but you could accomplish this by enabling MDC 1200 Pre- ID with Sidetone enabled.

MOL has a XTS 4250 listed, does anyone know what this is? I would guess it is some kind of XTS 5000 variant but had not heard of it before. I saw it briefly mentioned in one of the post it the newbie guide but there was no real info on it.

GFCI outlets and RF

There is a GFCI outlet on my bathroom wall that is directly behind my desk and I have discovered that is it popping any time I key up my portable with in about 5 or 6 feet. Also if I get with in about 6 in. of it with my cell phone it pops. Is this normal or is something wrong with the outlet???

I believe it was listed as fpp in a USFS or BLM fire radio list. I think we decided that it was not available to the general public this way. I think they had to make them that way to meet the bid specifications.

The local hospital here uses 464.xxx for security and I have not heard of them having any problems. The Medics also use thier radios (462) in the hospital all the time.

Ummm… If they are using encryption on a digital system it would not sound any different than non-encrypted digital voice on an analog radio.

Most of the depts. around here are buying HT-750. They are mostly replacing HT-600’s so there are still lots of HT-1000’s out there. The Sheriff’s office has been buying VX-600’s as replacement radios.

I seem to remember seeing some fine print for one of the ps mics, I think it was the 750/1250/1550, that said it was not intended for use on vhf radios.

If it’s just an AAR channel there should be no problem using an HT-1000. Lots of railroads use Motorola gear. You should be able to just program it as a simplex channel and not have any problem.

If I understand your statements correctly there is no reason you can’t use two repeaters, as long as they are both vhf high (if that’s the band you want to use).

nm fire you are joking right??? I had almost forgot about lip mounts, that sounds like it may be a great solution. Again running the cable will take some time so it will probably have to wait a wile but I think it will work nicely when I get around to it. Thanks for the help everyone.
