Re: UHF XTS3000 deaf when not on scan
Do you have MDC1200 or QCII enabled for any of the channels in question? I seem to recall the squelch type is set to AND by default and should be set to OR, but it's been a while since I've messed with ASTRO radio programming.

HT750 4 to 16 channels possible yet?
Hey folks, Picked up some HT750s today and come to find out they're 4 channel models. I've searched for a while now and only come up with threads from 2006 and before suggesting the radio cloning with a new firmware update. Has anyone had any luck in converting an HT750 from 4 channels to 16 channel...

Make sure to check the box in the CPS that allows for talk-around operation. You may have to put it in "Expert View Mode" to see the option.

Dual Control: XPR4550
Hey folks, I'm working on trouble shooting a small problem for some Connect Plus users. They have a two-station dispatch setup in a small closet sized room. Each station has an XPR4550 sitting on a shelf in front of them (behind their computer monitor) and an RMN5050 desktop mic that they use. They'...

Re: Users Going To Narrower Bandwidth Equipment
I've noticed that going on here as well, mainly switching the tones on the input. My assumption is to make sure those with personal radios are making an effort to get them reprogrammed and switched to narrowband, otherwise the radios won't work anymore (at least on trasmit).

Correct.
ADP is only available on a true P25 9600 system. SmartZone/SmartNet will not carry it, even on a digital talkgroup.

Connect Plus Subscribers
Good Evening All, I'm doing some browsing tonight and trying to research Connect Plus a little more. I'm only showing the 4500/6500 series as capable (with an option board) on the Motorola website, but we all know how they can occasionally be behind the times with their literature. Can anyone shed s...

Re: A Few General Questions
That is precisely what I was looking for, thank you for taking the time to type all that up. Of course, more often than not, digital is easier to setup now days... I wasn't aware that you didn't need to sync launch times though. I figured with the multi-path issues that CQPSK presents it would requi...

A Few General Questions
Just got a few questions for you guys that familiar, and it's purely curiosity, no planned projects or anything. First off, can a multi-site simulcast support P25 mixed-mode operation? If I key up on repeater 1 in digital, is there enough logic supported that will send the audio and mode to repeater...

You can inhibit a radio via MDC1200 over conventional (also over LTR). Same with transmitting an emergency and a few other commands that slip my mind.

Jeff, Not to sure of the details, but I do know of a company in NC that is playing with this feature. They have a small Connect Plus system up for testing purposes and feature development and are slowly adding features to subscriber radios via OTAP. They're using VHF XPR6550s. They started with one ...

MOTOTRBO Direct/Talk-Around
I've read that if you have a digital repeater pair programmed into your radio, if you go to talk-around/direct mode, the other radios will still unmute for the traffic. My question pertains to the timeslot recognition. Does the radio broadcast timeslot data in the data stream? For instance, If chann...

Found this brochure a few minutes ago, seems to be the only thing I can find on "Linked Capacity Plus". Looks like this might be a IP Site Connect/Capacity Plus hybrid? I seem to recall that they were anticipating a 20 site maximum for Connect Plus and 6 sites for Capacity Plus...but I can...

I've cycled through the Motorola V3M and VE20 over the past 6 years (those things were tanks). Just recently picked up a Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx. Also have a Surfboard Modem running to the desktop and a cable box as well.

The kicker with all this is it was working fine for about a week and suddenly changed over night. I had successfully used the radio on 10 of the 12 channels that I had programmed in, and things were working just fine. I'll make note of the silent monitor selection and make sure that's not selected.

Don't forget VIPER is Motorola Type II, which slates you to either Motorola of EF Johnson radios for right now. The 9600 VIPER system is coming online very slowly, so be careful about investing in any other manufacturers or you might have to wait a few years before you can put your new radios to use...

It's the same for all 12 channels. I've tested it on MURS with 2 other radios programmed the same and it won't unmute for either radio, even though it will transmit and is heard just fine on the other 2 radios. It came out of the blue one day and I don't have a clue why. I even tried every combinati...

I had a problem arise with one of my Saber 1s tonight. Seems that it won't unmute for any reason what so ever. Re: ASTRO 7.x Site Alias?
Ah finally, an answer! Thank you! And yes, I wish I had the need/money for a trunked radio...but I sadly don't. I've seen the alias displayed on a trunked radio and never really thought much about the difference in transmitting that information between an SZ-OL system and a true P25 system. Thanks!

ASTRO 7.x Site Alias?
Do any of you guys know if a site is aliased in true P25 trunked systems and if so how it's done? I know that SmartZone systems offer a 6 character alias for each site that can be displayed on radios, but of all the 7.x systems I've looked at or decoded on my computer, none of them display an alias....

I was under the impression that you can use TRBO in talkaround...but you lose the ability to have two conversations on the same channel (since there is no sync). I also have wondered the same thing about P25 TDMA in direct mode and if it were to behave the same way as TRBO. I stopped by a shop a few...
