Re: Pager Issue, can't describe
It was a hardware issue. I don't know what, but it was swapped out and the same codeplug works on a different pager flawlessly.

Pager Issue, can't describe
Alright guys, I have a brand new pager and while it works and transmits on channel A (priority scan), I cant get it to pick up the tones on Channel C (PTL sel Call, vibrate). Any ideas? Let me know if you need my code plug posted here...

Re: Minitor V Frequency Spread
That is too far out of the split. Your frequency split is H: 470 - 477.9875 MHz. The frequency that you are trying to work with is in split E: 453 - 461.9875 MHz. Unfortunately there is no easy way (without a hardware modification, which i do not even think is possible/feasible) to get what you are ...

Re: Minitor V Coding Options
Dan, the on/off duty function is for when you have a crew on duty but you want your members to carry their pagers - however not get toned out for the duty crew dispatches. I believe that you need a minimum of two sets of tones for this. If your fire dept only has firefighters dispatched simultaneous...

There are some frequencies that Motorola pagers refuse to work with. I forget the exact reasoning but you may be one of the unlucky ones.

Re: Minitor IV Help
Sounds like the squelch threshold needs to be adjusted. Thats done via the software. you either need to purchase the software and programming cradle and attempt it yourself, or take it to a service shop with that capability. He and I briefly exchanged emails on the subject - it is not the squelch. ...

Re: minitor v sv problems
Can you be a little more specific? Did it used to work and then stop? Is this a new pager, if not, then how old is it? Do you have the capability to program/access programming information yourself or do you have to go somewhere to have someone do it for you?

I believe seeing somewhere that the setting for this is in the actual pager programming.

Re: Minitor IV Help
Not knowing whether you have the hardware/software to do this, please read below and figure out which applies to you. Do you have the software and the drop in cradle with the serial plug in the back? If so, then select read to view your pager's data in the programming window, save it to an easily ac...

Re: Whelen WeCan VIRUS
The ones we have are the 18 wire WeCan Controller GEN 2 The more I think about it, it's probably a firmware writing screwup by Whelen and they didn't want to take the blame. Cowards. Whelen overnighted GEN 3 controllers for us, and we are to ship back the GEN 2 modules. Who the heck would create a ...

Re: Minitor IV Help
Is it static immediately when you turn the pager on? Or does it just not stop after you have been dispatched? It could be that the squelch has not been set properly, but I wouldn't be able to know exactly what the issue is without the codeplug. Do you have MinIV programming software?

Re: Minitor V Voice Prompt
Not sure why you would want the voice prompt, I find it to be rather annoying. :o However: If you go into User Data of the codeplug, one of the tabs is "Model Options". Select it and one of your drop down menus should be voice memo. Turn that to ON for the notification of changing the chan...

Can someone lead me through how to do priority scan. Basically this is to trouble shoot an issue. I attempted to add a second frequency and scan it but to priority back to f1. Re: How to fill holes drilled in plastic (from mic. clip) ?
You can always fill it with silicone or similar compound. Then use a blade to make it even with the surface. Use a felt tipped marker (furniture markers will do...) to shade in the color that you need. As long as you do not do a close inspection it passes the test. This worked out for me on numerous...

Re: Minitor V Problem
Could be a battery issue - a few on my dept were doing that. The pagers were brought back to the dealer who took care of it. I am not sure exactly what was done. Bring it back to whoever handles your radios.
