Re: 7000 flash code question (GPS)
You need Q947 APCO Packet Data Interface for that to be present.
Also, why does your flash code have both Q52 and Q53? That seems like the work of someone playing with Depot. Mother /\/\ doesn't ship radios like that. They come with one or the other, never both.

I understand the proper procedure of keeping the contacts covered when not in use. However, we're talking about a super rugged $7,000 radio being placed in the hands of firefighters. Yep, I tried this... the speaker is the actually the same. The big difference is the PA in the APX8000 or APX6000 BN (same for SRX2200 BN). If you have an "AN" model, it has the 0.5W speaker (weak audio!... my recommendation, attach an XE RSM...it has a full 1 watt speaker). If you have a ...

It’s very common when removing the RSM and using the radio without it that most people never use the side accessory cover, thereby exposing it to corrosion.

A case swap doesn't include the side connector. That can only best be achieved by a complete chassis swap in which case they would have to print all new tags for the radios. Make sure they're doing that. If you're getting corrosion on the side connector contacts, check that the RSM is being properly...

I may not have been completely clear, but what I want to do is have the XTVA use *only* the external antenna, and wondered if there was a way to trick it into doing so that avoids using the RF adapter. Welcome to the forum. Every XTS5000 can do narrow band. In CPS you set the deviation field ("Tx Opt Transmit Dev") to 2.5 kHz. This will, in turn, change the read-only value of the "Tx Opt Channel Spacing" to show "12.5 kHz" (narrow). Note, there's also a separate devia...

I've used a micro-USB to USB-A cable and plugged it into my PC (for programming) and it does charge the radio, through slowly (it's just USB 2.0) No warnings on radio about a lower power charge source, though.

OK, to take the topic back on track....
DMR in an APX radio.... hell yes, I'd love to see it. If there was an APX8000/8500 (or 9000/9500?) which was all band + DMR, I'd buy it.
If mother /\/\ kept it in the top-tier APX line, I can't see any cannibalization of the XPR line.
