Interesting Railroad Spectra variation...

Hey folks, been a while! Anyhoo, last night I had a unit with a regular (non-Astro) AAR Spectra, and it had an odd pattern, 12 small holes with a bunch of smaller holes in between, stamped into the grill down near the 7 and * keys. It looked factory from what I could tell, and had no differences ...

HT1000 RSM trouble

Hey folks. How often does the connector on the HT1000 have issues? A coworker has one that, as of late, he can't use a speaker mic on. We've tried three different mics, none work. The internal mic works fine, so I'm thinking it's something in the connector or inside the radio. Novice question, my ...

Saber RSM cord differences

I have an NMN6128C that recently took a crap. The cord on this particular one started as a coil right out of the strain relief on the mic head, whereas others I've seen have a short length of straight cord before the coil starts. These two variations seem to share the NMN6128C designation. Any ...

Our crew van has a Kenwood mobile in it, not sure which model or how many watts, but transmitting in the parking lot on any channel (railroad band) makes the customer detector at 7-Eleven go ding, ding, ding with each click of the mic. They've said Winston PD likes to do that, too.

You know those ...

This shouldn't be too far OT. I'm trying to find out what the various staff at Central Park Zoo use in terms of equipment and band(s). I saw a picture of one of the security guards wearing what looked like the old MT500-type speaker microphone, but it's got to be something newer. Any information ...
