i was searching the big E and saw a xts5000 with they say had q52 now is this the same as a ht1550xls? can i program recieve only and other channels with the correct pl?

I know im loosing my mind and cant remember

if i program a freq. ie...

111.1111 with a open pl code csq

but the other radios are set for

111.1111 with a pl of 121

if i key up the csq radio the others wont hear it even though im breaking the channel

is that correct

I am getting i believe 2 x WHELEN 2-Head Dominator TIR3 Super LED Light mounted in the grill and i have some room for a siren/pa but i havent found any i like yet. cant be thicker then i think 4 inches and it needs to be mounted. i have 911ep ls12 but i think the whelens will be better in the grill ...

thats the bandwith i wanted now i just need to get it programmed somewhere

maybe ill go see if i can get the des-xl pulled out of it and a dummy securenet installed for the programming

i am guessing only 12 channels capable :(

i know it can be done on the Astro Sabers and the 3000 maybe even the 3500

how can you program the radios so they dont affiliate and you can use them to monitor only.

I wanted some basic ideas on which is the best way to get it setup ie.. do i get a scanner and get the correct freqs, then setup the radio with the freqs and set it up for non tx inhibited.
