Thanks for the reply. I have never dealt with 9600 & 3600 baud in the same radio at the same time.

There are no 700 MHz freqs in the system for now, thank goodness, but some sites are rebanding. What is the newest HOST version the Astro Spectras?

You may be able to figure these out by using audio software such as Audacity, or Cool Edit 96. IIRC, I used Cool Edit 96 to decode QCI in the past, unfortunately, CE 96 is hard to find now. If you want to send me a wav file, I'll take a look. Vernh911_at_ AOL_dot_com

I received the A4 head I found and finally got a chance to test it today. The Spectra RSS wouldn't allow a change to the A4 head. I got it to work, but there was a little trick to it.

The onfreq HLN6432 reference to (rotary) and (pushbutton) were from the original Motorola documentation. However, in reality it doesn't seem to matter and the jumper differences were actually between different revisions A, B and C of these boards. I see how it can be confusing. When I have some ...

In some of my recent research, I think, from what I have seen/read, that when using an A4 rotary head with either an A5 or A7 spectra an interconnect board is needed for the volume pot to work correctly.

Does anyone out there know exactly what the HLN1185 amp uses to produce its siren tones?

I love the wail and yelp, but that Hi-Lo is not worth it.

The DEK I have is a HLN1241C.

Thats what I thought. I had tried using the radio alone to control the relays for bells and buzzers, but it would never act right.

At least with the tone decoder controlling the circuit, I would think it work work much better.

I've tried to write a saved codeplug to the radio, but it will not work.

It gives me the same error as when I try to read the unit "RRO size should be 3 bytes" or something really close to that.
