so I think chuck is right it is the audio IC

well, it tookout my hande dandy 9 volt speaker tester and the speaker is good o.k is this audio IC easy to fix
man this is the third radio this week that has broke on me

o.k i am driving around listening to my county dispatch and then I think man slow day it shure is quiet look down and the BSY light is flashing but I cannot hear anything change channel still nothing turn it off and back on no beep take it into the office and hook it up and turn it on and I can bare...

well I called my friend who is a real MSS tech and he told me to stop now and get a real radio so I have a $100 paperweight
o.k. I can sell the battery,case,cable and charger to get back some of my losses

I have been there already MSS
I recased it and now it wont TX it shows it is but no output just the exciter and the boards are not making good contact
I messed with it sum more and now it wont even power up

anybody wanna help me out and offer to get it going or maybe buy it for parts???

Hello all, Santa gave me a Visar and it needs a new battery as the one I have is DEAD
Now I have been looking around and was wondering your opinions on the Nicad VS the NIMH batteries
the battery is a ntn7394b NIMH
