Both radios look identical. The CP150 is a 2 Watt radio and the CP200 is a 4 Watt radio. I looked at the power settings in the radio tuner....over my head so I just bought some CP200's.

Finally got the software from Motorola and Yes, the new version 2.04 does program both radio versions. Motorola people very very nice and I even got an online account out of all the paperwork. The cost was $199.

This is a UHF, 448-470 MHz BUT I never saw a Maxtrac where the Scan button said, EXIT instead of Scan? With Volume control almost fully open voice audio present but the noise is louder than the voice.

On RX this Maxtrac has a loud rushing noise in background. Modulation is noticable but there is more rushing noise than voice transmission. Checked connections, inter connect pins, grounds, speaker. TX & Rx on freq ok. Any ideas? Thank you

He fixed my code plug problem. 2 lesson to be learned here. Save a back up of the code plug and don't put a code plug in unless you are sure it is the right band. I took a guess and made a mess.

Radios Now Scan "Thank You"
Inspection behind the scan button revealed a break in the circuit board. To prevent them from scanning someone cut the ribbon so the circuit to the button was open. All I did was clean the board and solder a bridge over the cut. Both units scan great now.

Yes, monitor light is on and I put it on hook and tried both ways. With Base Mic and with a mobile mic connected to ground to make the monitor light go off. Yellow off hook and goes out on hook. They used in an ambulance service and looked pretty clean but I will try cleaning the behind the buttons....

Well, I have tried all the suggestions and double checked for little things and tried everything except blanking and intializing. I have not performed this procedure but I assume it is done with MaxLab Tool Kit or some other software???

Wow...tried all the obvious. Hold the button down, check programming for enabled, scan list, double check mic on hook, Hmmm I have had no trouble getting other models to scan.......back to the drawning board! Still have no action with Scan button.

I am using a base microphone so I assume it does the off on hook, but I will recheck with a mobile mic on hook.
When I try to select channels it just emitts a beep. Pushing the scan button does nothing, no action no beep.

Have 2 units and neither one will go into scan mode. Scan list has 16 channels selected, 15 no priority and 1 channel as prioirity. When the scan button is depressed there is no sound or action. The select botton makes a beep and thats it. AM I missing something here is get them to scan????

Well, followed the advice. Cleaned contacts, moved logic board to clean pins, removed shields to inspect. I am thinking when I used contacct cleaner on the ground of the power supply connection that 99% of the noise went away. Those pins corrode teribbly and someone suggested possible bad ground. I ...

Brrrrrrrrrr I have a really agravating noise in the background during transmissions. Sounds like a motor running and somewhat intermittment. I have changed power supplies and mics to no avail. I have not tried running it off a battery because I have never had this before on other Maxtracs???? Help

I acquired a P110 VHF and a GP300 UHF and they both came with the same problem. TX and Rx they sound like chineese or garble. The start up beep is fine and they are on frequency they just sound off freq but my freq counter show them right on.

All straightened out!
Just had to use hex editor to make it look like a 16 channel. The error was because the model number was for a 8 channel but there were 16 freq programmed in and this confused the software. Whoever emailed me the tip......Thank you
