You want to save the codeplug values out of tuner and find someone who can auto-tune the radio if you don't have a calibrated service monitor handy.

Having the TOT to be controlled by the external controller is fine, but what I would try is to keep the TOT in the Quantar SCM and make for a time period that exceeds the external controller and see what happens. It just might not like being set to zero and is picking some random time period to time...

APX portables already have a torque-adding washer underneath the volume knob. No need to make any hacky mods, simply buy a new one and replace the worn out one. 3275377H01 (red) is the standard torque adder, 3275377H02 (blue) is the high torque adder.

I like to find a way to tighten my dated APX7K's volume knob. Too many times when carrying it I would brush up against it and either turn it all the way up or down. I remember in the past that some would put a small O ring on a 5K but haven't researched if physically you can do that on a 7K. Anyone???

I'm pretty sure the core doesn't store it to that much detail, but it is put across the ATIA and Genesis does log it and make it available if you are running that application. I use that piece of data when researching rogue users and duplicated ID's that go places it shouldn't be.

What you don't want to do is leave new boxed Impres batteries in the box on the shelf for a long period of time (~ 1 year).
I had a user do this instead of doing a rotation and lost about 20 batteries that wouldn't correctly charge when he attempted to put them in service.
