Yep, it was the radio. So get this... The plug on the board where you plug in the case, it was loose and came off when I was attempting to try a new case. Sooo, it appears that it was very loose in the first place, sometimes making contact and sometimes not.

I know you said the radio was properly affiliated to the system but this is a classic symptom of a radio that is not properly affiliated. The radio hasn't been changed from when it came from the factory other than having a codeplug loaded in it. Weird thing is that the radio works fine and is back out to an officer right now without issue. Just can't make a small change to the codeplug that I needed to make.

Thanks for the post. I do appreciate it. I should have known this. The problem is that the computer was too fast. I was using the mic port properly but the computer I was using was too fast. As soon as I switched computers, everything was fine.

I ended up getting both cables and had two Astro Spectra +'s come through the other day. Took me a while to figure out what it was because I had never programmed one before. Also found out that the Astro Spectra software doesn't work with the plus.

You were right. It hung but when I did what you said and read the radio, it came up fine in the new flash. Soooo, everything is good and all 5 radios are flashed. Only about 20 more to go!!

Hmmm, well about 95% through the upgrade, it says that it failed. Now is says removing codeplug from radio and it's just hanging on that. Maybe we have ourselves a nice brown brick now.

I have an XTS-5000 on a SmartZone system and when the digital talkgroups are active, the PTT ID shows up on the screen. However, when analog talkgroups are active, it does not. Is this normal? Is there a way to get them to show up on the analog talkgroups?

I've got to research both of these options, especially OTAP. In terms of the talkgroups, some areas an officer would have in the neighborhood of 200 talkgroups depending on their location. Given that there are 100 different areas with different interop zones, we're looking around 1500-2000 talkgroup...
