If your programmer set the battery type in CPS to UL and you use a non-UL battery you will get that error, it's to prevent mixing and matching non-certified batteries. You need to use gray labeled UL/TIA4950 batteries with the 8000XE in this case. Also, were all the new 'unknown batteries' properly ...

You want dual band, order an 8000 with only what you want turned on. Remember, the 8000 is not multiband by default. Hardware wise, yes. Software wise, no. It's actually the other way around. This should be fixed in a few days with the release of r16. It works as intended on a FM 6kXE though. You won't see any options available if the radio doesn't have FM or UL certification.

Do you know if it has RT or full windows? What processor and ram? I am using a Dell Venue 11 Pro with W8.1, i5 vPro and 4gb ram and it works better than most desktops running APX but it sure wasn't cheap. I wouldn't try anything less than an i3 on large codeplugs. My suggestion would be to leverage the alias import feature for your APX subscribers (fw12 and up) and try read hard to keep IDs constant. Unless a radio is lost or stolen, when a device is broken or transferred the ID should remain with the original user.

Short answer: No. Soft ID is a Motorola proprietary feature for Astro Conventional systems. Since you are deploying a 7.14 system, are you also using OTAP? You could manage your alias list fairly easily with that, as the latest firmware & Radio Management supports incremental updates to subscrib...
