I did some more searching and RSS is meant to exist but it was only used in the factory...so maybe it was DEPOT or LAB RSS?

I also read that very early versions of GP300 RSS is meant to work but you need to "trick" the GP300 RSS somehow?

Assuming a mid-range loss of 21dB relative to an isotropic, I think this suggests that 6W from a low band HT750 is effectively 30mW given the losses using the helical!!!....and an isotropic is 2.15dB greater than a dipole...so relative to a dipole its equivalent to around 20mW!! Interesting. The speaker mic cord must be acting as a ground plane and affecting the SWR!! A 29.6 MHz 1ft helical with no ground plane must be very inefficient... I wonder how many -dB's compared to a dipole!! I have noticed a massive improvement in RX on higher bands such as 6m when you simply rest...

You wonder why Motorola makes 4 different versions of the low band antenna when they probably all need to be cut!!!...although I guess its cheaper to buy a 42 - 50 MHz vs 30 - 36 MHz antenna as there is less "wire" and "rubber" :)

I guess the uncut version is ideal for 29.6 MHz!!

OK thanks. So the antenna could be an aftermarket NAB6063 with the red color code...which fits with Motorola cutting chart giving 47 MHz. When you buy a NAB6063 42 - 50 MHZ, can you use this antenna to TX/RX anywhere between 42 and 50 MHz without cutting the antenna to a specific spot frequency....s...

The radio is ex-marine so could have been used as an on-board ship low power repeater - so maybe its using some kind of modded repeater firmware which causes the down arrow key to act as a Zone toggle key?

You can program 4 front keys (P1, P2, P3 and P4) with numerous options but the up/down/left/right arrow keys are not programmable.

I have programmed P4 as a Down Arrow key so I can use that instead of the actual down arrow key :)

Thanks for the feedback. I lowered the TX power (from 100 to 50) but still get the "power burst"....and I assume its still Txing "in band". The radio was from an SK sale so nobody to ask about its history. Maybe its a "36 - 42 MHz" radio...but the radio still had 31 - 3...

I have a UHF Saber 3 which is 5.4 KHz off frequency. Motorola Micom 2ET "MCS2000" head - standard mic?

Does a Motorola Micom (MOBAT) 2ET HF radio with a remote head (which looks like an MCS2000 head) use a standard Motorola mic with standard pin outs?

Does the Motorola online MOL "database" list the price as $20 or is the official price higher and resellers are discounting?
