I've been experimenting with sort of the same process, made a bootable CD with the image thats bundled with Nero that boots a version of DR-DOS with USB support, with a bunch of RSS programs on the same CD, and I've had limited success, some programs work, Maxtrac, RadM100, SM50, SP50.....while othe...

CDM Option Boards

Came across a few CDM's in the last little while that had a option board in them, the option board is the same board that HT1250's have in them for touch tone in the front cover, the ones in the CDM's even have the keypad lights that the HT1250 boards have....

Re: Off topic trunking question

The bigger issue is that patched trunked radio audio sounds like butt, unless you spend a lot of time doing level adjustments. When the patch is trunk-->trunk or trunk-->P25, it sounds even worse and is even harder to equalize. For just this reason alone you're better off sticking with simplex anal...

Using the pinouts here, I can get my radio to go into "keyloading" mode on the screen but it fails

Im using a old STX speaker mic with:

KVL - to Saber
9 - to - 10
8 - to - 9
7 - to - 5
6 - to - 11

gonna start banging my head off the desk soon

It has nothing to do with CPS or firmware. The "low powered" CDM will adjust from 1-25 watts in UHF and I believe 1-30 watts in VHF. The "high powered" CDM will adjust from 20-45 watts (maybe 50 in VHF?). If you need low power, get a low powered CDM...they are better suited than...

As far as I can tell from looking at the UPI schematic, the UPI is more complicated then its needed to be....you should be able to build/buy a much simpler interface for about 20 bucks give or take... You should be able to get away with using something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...
