I tried to find from Batlabs site a drawing or schematic of a cable to connect KVL T3011DX to XTS3000, but for some reason I didn't find it.

Most of those have had either dirty or oxidated switch on the smaller (=mic) connector so it does not reconnect microphone path when lapel mic is disconnected. Soft ID only works in the digital mode, and the best way to get it is thru your local Moto dealer. I think the option is fairly inexpensive. If you want to risk dumping in a loaded flashcode in it by other means, you could do that too. But, since the option is usually dirt cheap, I'd get it flashed...

As far as I know, model or serial number does not tell much anything about core version each saber is. Only way to tell for sure is to read the codeplug with RSS.
