There's a known firmware problem that causes humming upon transmit at certain voltage levels. Are you running something like R05.60.00?

What do IMBE transmissions sound lke? Can you hear a "chop chop chop chop chop chop" noise in the background, when receiving the transmission from the problematic ...

Sounds like you have TX CLEAR ALERT TONE enabled. On a trunking system (with XTS3K/Digital Saber) the PTT access tone sounds like this:

"high high low"

When you're secure, it would go:

"high high high"

If you don't like this, disable the feature in the radio-wide secure menu.

Re: Talkgroups, where to setup? (sorry admin.. copied to Inf

I am confused on where to setup talkgroups...

...I have no formal training on Motorola systems so, be detailed if possible. ..

No disrespect intended Gary, but if you have no training on M systems, and are confused about what a talkgroup is, you shouldn't even be touching a trunking radio ...

This is a great idea. Most batlabbers have their ham licenses. The IRLP network works great, and you guys could get a dedicated reflector channel to use.

IRLP is top notch.

You require the ASTRO25 Mobile CPS. It will program the Digital Spectra Plus, and the XTL5000. It may also program the XTL2500/XTL1500 series--that's unconfirmed.

I believe the programming cable is the 3085001D01 digital is the same one that's used with the digital spectra plus. Someone will ...

Seth:

Try using a pencil eraser and rubbing the contacts on the back of the digital saber. Even if they look clean/gold, I'm betting there's a build-up on the contacts.

In the event that doesn't cure the problem, review your com-port speed settings on the windows machine. Play with the speed of ...
