Re: The New Motorola Depot
Return fire. I wish. Ironically we have Texas where when your kid gets baptized they get issued a CCL and a 9mm. Mexico, caught with a gun.... your *screwed*. Off to jail. I guess Moto could easily secure "security" folk that can carry, but I'm guessing it's really difficult. "Here is...

Re: The New Motorola Depot
I lived in the borderlands down there about 40mi from the border. Never met anyone that went to Ciudad Juarez and admitted it. Even the Mexicans were scared to go there to visit family. Sad. One legal immigrant hadn't seen family in years. Despite your immigration politics beliefs, you gotta admit i...

Re: The New Motorola Depot
I wonder if they are providing armored security transport for the US workers in El Paso that need to commute to Juarez every day. Last I heard the drug cartel murders left a body count of over 3000 last year. Kidnappings, mass graves, police chiefs and mayors killed every other month, heads cut off ...

XTS TCP/IP link
Wondering if anyone has successfully used a pair of Astro25 radios with packet data option as a point to point TCP/IP link without any additional hardware. Just 2 radios. I'm aware the connection would be ridiculously slow... more looking for a proof of concept here. Example of a potential goal: PC ...

Re: XTS4000 Keyloading
Wasted another hour messing with this tonight. I'm used to building cables. Have for almost every radio I own.... but something is messed with this KVL -> 4000 one I'm making. It may be my nextel side connecter and I'm going to start again with a fresh one. Would someone take a few minutes to meter ...

Re: Programming Motorola/Timex Internet Messenger pager watch
The programmer isn't that big of a deal. It's just a serial DB9 to infrared. I think I actually have one around here somewhere. More than one pager used this for programming. It's NLA software that's the problem.

Dunno what you had, but the timex internet messenger does alpha paging using FLEX protocol. I know there was some other older motorola pager watch....and a pager pen too... that did numeric only.

Connect computer audio to Maxtrac or Nextel
I'd like to connect the line level audio coming out of a laptop and feed it into either Nextel DirectConnect or a Maxtrac style 16pin connector. Has anyone found a inexpensive way to do this? Nextel to Moto Portlable/Mobile interface.
I'd like to connect a UHF receiver to a Nextel with DirecTalk/MOTOTalk. The goal is to repeat some 464 Mhz bussiness traffic to my Nextel. I know there will be a delay at the beginning because of the handshaking.....but has anyone found an *inexpensive* way to do this?

ID-8 CWIDer and GR300
Anyone have a ID-8 CWID module attached to a GR300? I have a i50r controller and there is a 3rd jack on the back, can the ID-8 be plugged into that?
If you have an ID-8 on a GR300, do you mind telling me what colors go to what pins? Thanks.

Here is a list. The i930 shouldn't be on there though.
Some of the Boost mobile phones have it built in as well but the feature is turned off in the codeplug.

Thanks for the help but these aren't regular GP300s. There is no battery. This repeater uses the guts of two GP300s that have been mounted on special boards inside the repeater. A regular GP300 programming back wont work.
