Here is another chance to use my "Motorola Triangle" https://i.imgur.com/1bWffIj.jpg I use this picture to illustrate how Motorola handles scanlists in their radios. All 3 corners of the triangle have to match up and be the same. --The Zone/Channel has to match the Scan List --The Scan Lis...

Yeah, I have a 4000 as well but honestly the 3000+ imho works better and just seems to be a better platform. Now that Moto is talking about their intent to replace the 4000 with the 5000 and go away from the Windows Mobile platform I am sure that we will soon be moving up again. You know Moto is no...

After many years of never needing any other algorithm for my KVL3000+ other than DES-XL/DES-OFB I decided to add AES and ADP to the unit.....that is until I talked to Motorola who basically said "we don't support it anymore". So before I file it away and use my KVL4000 exclusively, does a...

The answer is yes. You can mix conventional and trunked in the same zone with one caveat: You can't scan the trunked and non-trunked together. Sure you can, you just need to set the 'Scan Type' to "Talkgroup", and check off the "Multi System Scan" checkbox in the General tab. We...

Re: P25 system question?
Can a P25 system (xtl5000/xts5000) have a zone programmed with talkgroups in all channels (for the same system) but also have a single channel programmed as a repeater channel? the goal would be to have an interop channel programmed into the same talkgroup, so that we use our radios as normal, but ...

This interesting note has been added to the APX CPS 16 listing on MOL:
R16.01.00 will be released by the end of May which includes an update for frequency ranges applicable only in Canada. We recommend waiting to upgrade to R16.01.00 if possible to avoid upgrading twice

I had already updated the 3920. Waiting for a call back from Aeroflex, it shows the current firmware and scripts, they just don't work. Current Radio Firmware for all radios except the APX 8000 is 14.00.04. APX 8000 Firmware is at 14.01.01.
APX CPS is currently at 14.00.00.

Can anyone verify that the CPS 12 has been pulled from MOL? I was able to download it the other day, but it is no longer listed. I want to make sure it is not an issue with my account. I don't see it on MOL today either and I was able to see it the other day so I guess Moto pulled it. Marshall KE4ZNR
