Re: Remote control over POTS line?

It sounds to me like I would just bypass the relays at that point and install a splitter....I guess that hadn't occurred to me. Shouldn't I be concerned with voltages on the line since it is POTS as opposed to a dry pair?

Re: Remote control over POTS line?

Thanks for the reply....that's almost what I'm looking for. While I could still use this to enable/disable, I still would like to be able to dial in and talk over the air with my deskset. I would need something that answers and holds the line open for me, interfacing directly into the tone remote ad...

Remote control over POTS line?

I am tinkering with a project and I was wondering if anybody could provide some insight. I have a Kenwood repeater hooked up to a Moto tone remote adapter and an MC1000 remote. I have it staged up locally so that I can transmit, receive, and disable repeat mode all through the MC1000. I would eventu...

Re: Midland Mic on Motorola XTL 2500

OK. The customer is not dead-set on using the midland mic. Would it be possible to use a mic from say a CDM mobile and interface that into the rear accessory jack? I've seen some information about interfacing with these types of mics. It seems that they use some sort of pre-amp in the mic itself. I'...

Re: Midland Mic on Motorola XTL 2500

I have a customer who has a need to attach a remote mic and speaker to an XTL2500 remote mount radio. I know that I can pull PTT, Mic audio, and RX audio from the accessory connector on the back of the control head. I won't have any problems connecting mic audio and RX audio, but my concern is with...

XTL2500 Maintenance Mode

Welcome to the bane of my existence: The XTL2500 05 control head radio. I've been having problems with a customer's ambulance. It is a dual head configuration in a newer Ford E350 or somesuch thing with the ambulance body. Ever since the installation, they have complained of the radio going into mai...

Re: MCS2000 radio will not key up in conv. mode

Yes, I saw this radio personally work in trunking mode. I even had the original system still programmed into it (out of range of course) and keyed up, only to get a "bonk". I tried what you suggested, simplex and default conventional mode and I still get nothing.

Re: MCS2000 radio will not key up in conv. mode

No bonking or anything, I checked under radio-wide and the ignition switch is set to "blank".

MCS2000 radio will not key up in conv. mode

I have a MCS2000 model I radio (900mhz) that was used on a trunked system. Now I have converted it for use on the ham band, but after I programmed the frequencies into conventional personalities, the radio will not key on any of the new channels. Any ideas?

m1225 vhf out of band programming

I have an m1225 that I have programmed slightly out of band before. I followed some sort of step-by-step instructions on here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. I had to wipe my harddrive and re-install windows, so I lost whatever changes I made using hex workshop. btw, I'm using m1225 RSS vers...

I've been installing MW800s in Michigan for a couple of months now. I can get an exact figure for you if you need it, but I believe the price is in the $5000-$7000 range.
