Been using the pager for 48 hrs now and I am happy to say that it is acting normal. I still have no clue as to why the thing wont pick up anything in WB settings even on a WB system and only works in NB. I hope someone who knows more will chime in on this. I have tried to get mine to show the id in the top display with no luck. The radio is running firmware 6.41 with flash 000001-000000-9

Great article. I know that there is a lot of caution about the advanced settings but .... My pager squelch is really 'tight' - ie it cuts out too early so it misses a lot of transmissions. I've tried getting the latest firmware (its currently 2 something) - but haven't found that yet. On the advanc...

It has nothing to do with a jumper. Do a search on "Minitor V Engineering mode" You will find directions on how to change the PPS to get in engineering mode and set it to 2ch from there

Set your revert N for a longer time 10 sec or so. Mine also gets the white noise for a short time too but it will record the call.

That sounds wierd....If it not the battery I would have it looked at by Motorola. I use a HT 1250 VHF here in Alaska and it works in temps from -20 down to -45 with no trouble.

We have two David Clark PTT that WILL work on M XTS 5000 and EFJ 5100 only problem is that you will have to disconnect from ICS then plug into the DC to talk on the radio. I can get you the model number when I get back to work on Monday

I have another question, What is silent scan do...??? I can not find any info on it in the book. I am sure this has been brought up one time or another, I have a stored voice MV and dispatch will drop the signal for a few seconds before going on with the dispatch. What setting do I need to use on the reset function so the SV will record the message...

My 1250 is 7 yrs old and the QC II worked very well for the most part. only prob that I found is that if their is a week signal or with a lot of static the radio will not decode. ( glad my MV will ) the tones I have used were 701.0/ 2100.0 and 802.5/ 547.5 I dont know how strong and clear you signal...

Just my little say in this....
On my county EFJ 5100 in digital P25 trunk mode I get 12-18 hrs of battery life. In analog mode I get 18-24 hrs.

Thanks I do not have a remote head on this unit. I have loaded up my HT 1250 with the cable with no trouble. The plug on the cable for the CDM is the one that goes where the mic is. I thought I read someware that you had to progran it from the back. I dont think thats true I should have the radio in...
