It's in fail safe mode. There's a mixed mode Type II system here. When it goes into fail safe mode, some channels have an open carrier (for the analog TGs), while some others have a constant "machine gun" sounding data (for the P25 talkgroups).

WinMDCD doesn't display the zero in the program itself, but in the log it would show "0204".

MT1000 Transmitting Problem

I have an 99 channel MT1000 unit that displays "88" on the display unless the VCO lock line is grounded. With the VCO lock line grounded, the radio only transmits for about a second and then stops. I also have an 8 channel MT1000 unit that I believe has no trouble transmitting. Is there any way I ...

It doesn't mention the mAh of the battery, so would charging it for 14 hours be OK? How long should I charge it for if it was 1200 mAh? Thanks.

Multiplier M5447 Charging Time Question

This battery says "1 HOUR CHARGE" on the bottom label of it. Is that time only for rapid chargers or is it also for slow chargers? I have a Motorola slow charger and want to know how long I should charge this battery for. It is not new. Thanks.

Try hitting F8 before "Starting MS-DOS..." appears on the screen during boot. It'd ask you what you want to allow it to start during this boot. Allow it to start everything except WIN.COM.

MS-DOS 7.10 is a hacked version of DOS taken from Windows 95 or 98 (I believe 98). It is not an official Microsoft product. You should switch to MS-DOS 6.22. Also try 5.00 if 6.22 doesn't work.

I don't have the ability to reprogram the radio now, so would it be OK to keep the pin grounded as long as I don't transmit? Thanks.

OK, I did what was described in this thread and it worked perfectly. The radio now RXes fine, but I'm too scared to TX on it. If I reconnect the pin that I grounded, will it go back to only displaying "88"? Thanks.

I can't afford to send it to you now, but thanks for the offer. Can you tell me more about grounding the lock detect line? I have some electronics experience.

MT1000 Displaying "88" on Display

I've recently received a 99 channel VHF (146-174 MHz) MT1000 and battery. The radio was programmed by the person who sold it to me and worked perfectly when I first tried it (brand new battery was just taken out of box and attached to radio). I turned on the radio and was able to receive NOAA ...

Can this charger charge NiMH batteries or only NiCD batteries? If it can charge NiMH batteries, how long should I charge a brand new one for? Thanks.
