VHF Repeater system working on 700/800
Our area has a new 700/800MHz trunked system they are trying to get all county departments on, only downfall is they will not pay for the radios for us to get on it. My knowledge on radios is pretty basic so bare with me... We have a VHF repeater system already setup for our area. we have 3 Voters a...

XTL 2500 Dash to Remote Conversion
I tried to search, but was unable to find my answer. I am a newbie to the ASTRO25 Mobiles. I have just bought a dash mount XTL2500 and would like information on what is needed to make it a remote mount radio. Is it as easy as buying a remote mount kit (like CDM's) or is there more to it hardware/sof...

I know its been a few weeks but I was finally able to take a look at it. First thing I did was check the Ground. The ground is about 6Ft long and is grounded to the back of the Driver seat frame. I figured this wasn't the best ground so I unhooked it looking for another place to locate it. After I r...

Maybe it's the pins on the back.... I have a 20-pin connector i got off eBay. on it it says 2 10 20 on the top of the connector.. so i went from left to right counting up.. so bottom left is 1, upper left is 2, then lower 3 upper 4 and so on.... is this correct... if not then there's the problem!

I'm going over the schematics to build this cable..

I saw that you need a flash adapter to update the firmware. My question is, Can I just add a Switch to my cable (linked above) to connect DB-25 pin 1 to pin 25?

to get the code plug error off all you need to do is get yourself a gp380 codeplug and write it to your radio. i hope you saved your tuning software before you started tinkering with it. if not you need to have it re-tuned.
