always active. Plate is there to protect the contacts from dirt and damage.

The tracking gen is an option even on the 1200 Super S .
It's a feature normally enabled at the factory in the processor card.

could you be a little more descriptive on what that means ?
Not sure if it means the squelch is stuck open or you get no RX audio.
