My MT2000 is sick.

Post by kd5wyu »

Can you tell me how to fix it?

This noise is on all transmitted audio.

This is a UHF 438-470 MT2000 R01.42.

This recording was made from a different radio on 446.000 mhz with no PL or DPL engaged. With PL/DPL, you can hear that in addition to this hum with headphones.

How do I get rid of this #^#! noise?

The only place I have ever heard something similar is on my county's 800 system (where a few of the units have this on their audio)

Hopefully it won't require a trip to Moto^H^H^H^HMexirola.

TIA

My radio (pretty much the same specs) has the same hum noise as in your recording. I found this thread a while back, but I have never tried the fix outlined therein. I know that the noise that k4wtf's radio made was much louder, but I wonder if it is the same cause.

In my case, if I attatch a speaker-mic and talk through it, the noise goes away completely.
