gm339 programming

Post by vk3jdjohn »

Good afternoon,
I have been given a Motorola gm339, and after building a max232 interface I was able to programme it.
My only problem is, it rx's okay, but when I key the ptt I get only a very loud beep from the speaker, and as long as I hold the ptt down it continues.
Obviously I have missed some thing in the programme. I want to use this radio for APRS in a 4 wheel drive.
If any one has any suggestions it would be appreciated.
Best regards

Hi John,
do you happen to have the mic plug pinout for this radio?

I have an ebay bought, FTDI chipped USB-TTL adapter, and I want to make a lead to suit this radio.

I'm assuming it's just a combination of TX, RX and GND, but I'm jumping in the deep end here, so may be VERY wrong!

Cheers

Z
