HT750/1250 42-50 split on 6 meters

Post by btrains »

Will the HT series (either 750 or 1250) program onto the 50-54 ham band? Can you force them to do so by modifying the CPS? Similar to the way the Astro Spectra could be modified to do 136-174? There is a plethora of 42-50 HT radios on that popular auction site, and they seem like a unique way to get portable on 6 meters. However, if the radios can't be coaxed into going up to 54 MHz, I might as well not bother.

Thanks!
