x9000 rado

x9000 rado

i have a x9000 vhf radio and it has t99ke037 t73kej7j04ak on the label and it has two rf connectors. 1 normal and 1 under the handle. what type of radio is this. Thanks, Don

Sounds like either a special, or someone modified the radio. You would have to pop the top cover and see where the second coax connector cable goes.

You can't make the radio into a repeater as the electronics uses the same circuitry for both the RX and TX VCO for the most part.

You have an ex-Washington State Patrol Syntor X9000. The second RF connector under the handle is for connecting to an auxiliary Spectra receiver, so that only one antenna was needed.

Do some searching here on the board. A lot of good info on that setup has been posted over the years, including which SP version of RSS you need to use.
