Motorola Maxtrac - was it ever sold in Europe?

Post by g8tzl2004 »

Was the Maxtrac 100/300 etc ever sold in Europe or is it just a US radio?

I've seen plenty of GM300's in Europe but only the odd Maxtrac. I've always assumed that the "European" Maxtracs might have originally been used on US airbases in Europe and that it was only the GM300 which was officially distributed into the European market by Motorola.

Any ideas?

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

I don't think the Maxtrac was ever sold in the EU. Just North America/Latin America.

Wasn't the whole Maxtrac platform developed by Motorola Germany in the 80s?
