APX 7000 WITH RSM?

Hi all, trying to use an RSM XE on my APX7000, when i connect the mic the steady red led stays on? I get audio and can transmit just cant shut the led off??? I realize its for the APX XE but can it work on my APX7000? Thx guys. Kevin

What firmware is your radio? It may need to be updated to support the XE RSM. A standard 7000 is fine...you don't "need" an XE radio.

I had the same problem when I used an XE mic on a XPR6550. Works fine on a 7550 with the latest firmware
