HT1250 RX audio sounds thin?
Thr audio coming out of the speaker sounds like a small cellphone on speaker phone. Is there a setting somewhere in CPS or something wrong that it sounds like this? When compared to say a xts1500 it sounds bad, tinny, weak. There is an option in CPS for RX thin something but I do not have that checked.

Check if the RX is set to flat or de-emphasis. If set to flat, will sound thin.

I know I have published this before, and it's based on info posted here several years ago, but, it's worth posting again. Here are my notes on fixing the tinny audio in the Pro Series portables:Java wrote:Thr audio coming out of the speaker sounds like a small cellphone on speaker phone. Recommended initial audio settings to avoid tinny sound:
Radio Configuration --> Basic tab: Uncheck the Audio Processing Filter
Conventional Personalities --> Advanced tab: Disable Compression and Expansion
Still on the Advanced tab: Select “De-emphasis & Pre-emphasis”
Do this for each personality where you are having audio issues.

Yeah I unchecked that APF box and pow, booming audio!!
I have all my stuff set as follows:
Compression AGC
Expansion AGC
Emphasis De-Emphasis.
Audio sounds good, some say base is the audio through rptr but as for Tac channels it sounds nice on RX end.

This is great information. I had this "tinny" sound problem and now have fixed it. What a great forum.
