Waris Portable (HT750 & HT1250) Battery Question

Post by lubindent »

Hey Folks,

Is there any reason a PMNN4018A battery won't work on a Waris portable? If not, what's the scoop?

Documentation says it's compatible with the following radios:
Motorola CP308
Motorola CP885
Motorola CT250
Motorola CT450
Motorola GP88S
Motorola PRO3150

It looks to be the exact same form factor & voltage as the Waris batteries, only difference I can tell is that it is missing the upper contacts (unused by the HT1250) and is an ugly green color.

Here's a link to some random eBay auction just for some non-stock images of the battery.

It won't fit in a Waris charger, I believe. We had this issue some years back before we convinced the customer to replace the CT450's with Trbo.

com501 is correct. While similar electrically & visually, they simply won't fit the Waris line. They won't mount to the radio, nor fit in the base charger. I just went round & round with some PRO 3150's that were donated to our club. Naturally they were all missing the batteries and chargers. At first glance I thought the Waris batteries would work, but no.

Come to find out they were all (4 of them) junk. This after ordering new batteries and chargers. Talk about letting the air out of my balloon.
