XTS3000 SRN1397

Post by gatekeep »

Anyone have the text the old SRN1397 for the XTS3000? As I recall it has to do with installing a plastic or rubber insulating material between the front cover and the RF deck shields, I know this SRN was superseded by SRN1473.

Memo To: SRN Mailing List Informational Only

From: XTS3000 Subscriber Product Group

Subject: XTS3000 UHF Portable Radio – Part Addition - Insulator

Changes:
An insulator (1485328E01), addressing transmit noise noted by a few users in normal operation of the UHF portable, is being added to the Detailed Service Manual (68P81083C90-P) in an upcoming release. The current Detailed Service Manual version (68P81083C90-O) should be referenced for guidance in disassembly and re-assembly of the radio (see Section 8).

In the event that excessive noise is noted in transmit during normal operation, installation of the 1485328E01 insulator is detailed below to minimize this condition.

Note: If the excessive noise is not experienced, no action is needed.

Changes For:

Any XTS3000 UHF portable radio that exhibits excessive transmit noise during normal operation.

General: Detailed Service Manual(s): 68P81083C90-P (See next page for details of assembly)

XTS3000 Insulator Installation

Insulator Installation Procedure:

1) Follow Disassembly/Reassembly Procedure as described in section 8 (disassembly steps 1 through 11) of the Detailed Service Manual (68P81083C90-A).

2) Place the insulator over the RF shield (2605343Z series) (see figures 1, 2) so that it lies above the posts indicated in figure 3. The insulator is designed to match the contour of the casting (1505348Z series).

(Three pictures shown on SRN)

7) Replace the controller board and shield, securing with the locking clips, as outlined in section 8 (reassembly steps 8 through 16) of the Detailed Service Manual (68P81083C90-A).
